Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts are proud to announce the 2009 Lugnuts Jersey Auction, with all proceeds to support the Capital Area United Way. The silent auction will conclude on Lugnuts Charities Night, presented by Dan Henry Distributing, on Saturday, August 15, during the Lugnuts' 7:05 p.m. game against the Great Lakes Loons.

"The Lugnuts are committed to helping the community," Lansing Lugnuts Co-Owner Sherrie Myers said. "This auction is exciting in that it benefits the Capital Area United Way while at the same time giving our terrific fans the opportunity to own a piece of Lugnuts history."

Currently in progress on the Lugnuts' official website, www.lansinglugnuts.com, the team is auctioning off the Lugnuts' home jerseys from the 2009 season. Bids open at $125.00 for each jersey.

The web auction will run until noon on Saturday, at which time the highest bids on each jersey will be used as the starting bids for the live silent auction during Lugnuts Charities Night, presented by Dan Henry Distributing.

Fans who are unable to attend Lugnuts Charities Night are encouraged to place the highest possible bid on their favorite jersey to give them their best chance to win.

At the conclusion of the live silent auction, the winning bidders will be announced and a post-game on-field ceremony will see the winners personally presented their jerseys by the members of the Lugnuts.

There will be several presentations throughout Lugnuts Charities Night with the Lugnuts' partner charities: Capital Area United Way, H.O.P.E. Scholarship Fund, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Impression 5 Science Center, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Lansing.

Following the game and jersey ceremony, fans will be treated to a spectacular LAFCU Fireworks show.
