
Chainsaws and Cheerleaders Highlight Whitecaps' Next Homestand

The West Michigan Whitecaps are gearing up for an action-packed four-game series this weekend with the South Bend Silver Hawks.
The series kicks off Saturday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. Saturday is Wendy's Salute to Redheads Night. All fans with red hair can purchase half priced reserved seats. The first 1,500 fans will receive Wendy's baseballs and a Farm Bureau Insurance Fireworks show will follow the game. Gates open at 5:00 p.m.
Sunday is a Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day. The first 1,000 kids eat free. Fans are also welcome to play catch on the field and get autographs from the team before the game and children can run the bases after the game, courtesy of Lake Michigan Credit Union. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
The Whitecaps will hold another Bike to the Ballpark event on Sunday as well. Fans can meet at Rogue River Park at noon on Sunday for free hot dogs and then ride their bikes to Fifth Third Ballpark.
Families looking for a cheap night out at the ballpark will want to attend the game on Monday, August 17. Up to four kids, 12 and under, can get free reserved seats when accompanied by an adult who purchases a full price reserved seat. The offer only applies to reserved seats and cannot be combined with any other offer.
Monday is also Cheerleading Night at the ballpark. Squads from local high schools will perform their routines between innings. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The series concludes Tuesday, August 18 at 7:00 p.m. As part of Big Top Tuesdays, the chainsaw juggling Mad Chad will be at the ballpark entertaining the crowd. Tuesday is a Bob Evans Senior Night. All fans 50 or better can purchase half off box or reserved seats. A special Farm Bureau Insurance fireworks show will follow the game.
The Silver Hawks are currently fighting for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Division. South Bend's roster is full of top Diamondbacks' prospects including former Notre Dame standout and 2009 first round draft pick A.J. Pollock.
