August 2, 2019 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees used a six-run second inning to defeat the Oklahoma City Dodgers 14-4 on Wednesday night in front of 10,788 fans at Smith's Ballpark.

After Oklahoma City hit a two-run home run in the first inning, Salt Lake responded back with a big second inning, plating six runs to take a 6-2 lead.

The Bees bats collected seven hits in the second frame including Jo Adell's first Triple-A hit and RBI coming from a single to right field. The Dodgers were able to score one run in the third, but surrendered three runs in the bottom of the frame as Michael Hermosillo drove in a run on a single and Jared Walsh belted a two-run homer to give Salt Lake a 9-3 advantage. Both clubs traded solo home runs in fifth with Salt Lake leading 10-4. In the seventh, the Bees loaded the bases with no outs and scored two to go ahead 12-4. The Salt Lake offense produced two runs in the eighth to cap off the 14-4 victory and avoid a series sweep.

In his Bees debut, Adell went 1-for-4 with one RBI, one run scored and one walk drawn. Adell, the #4 prospect in baseball, is the highest-rated prospect to suit up for Salt Lake since Mike Trout in 2012. Walsh hit his 27th home run of the season and extended his hitting streak to nine games. The Salt Lake offense tied a season-high in hits with 17 as all Bees batters collecting at least one hit. Bees starter Parker Bridwell allowed four runs on five hits while fanning eight batters over four and two-thirds innings. The Salt Lake bullpen had a solid outing, tossing four and one-thirds scoreless innings with Jose Rodriguez (3-2) taking home the victory with three scoreless innings of relief.

New Orleans comes to town to start a four-game series on Friday night at Smith's Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
