Fresno Grizzlies News Release
San Antonio, Texas - In Fresno's first ever visit to San Antonio, it was the Missions (69-42) who were victorious, defeating the Grizzlies (53-58) 1-0 in 10 innings Friday night. Fresno dropped their seventh straight game, equaling a season-long and fell to 7-6 in extras (4-2 on the road). It was also the first 1-0 affair that the Grizzlies have played in this year.
Scott Copeland led the charge for Fresno on the mound and at the plate. The righty dazzled for six shutout innings, striking out nine. Copeland's nine punchouts were a season-high and it tied a career-high as well. He also picked up a single in the defeat. Alec Keller mustered a pair of knocks and Jake Noll extended the current club-high hit streak to five contests.
San Antonio starter Trey Supak was also brilliant. Supak fanned eight over six and two-thirds scoreless frames. He allowed one walk and four hits. In the 10th, Blake Allemand drove a game-winning single to left, plating Jacob Nottingham. The only run of the game gave Missions lefty Angel Perdomo (2-0) the win and Dakota Bacus (4-4) the decision.
