2/10/2006 10:19:00 AM - HERSHEY heads into tonight's game with first place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with plenty of new faces after Washington recalls five different players to the NHL. The BEARS are six points behind the first place Penguins heading into tonight's contest.

The Capitals recalled defenseman Mike Green along with forwards Boyd Kane, Boyd Gordon, Dave Steckel and Doug Doull in time for tonight's game in Philadelphia with the Flyers. The BEARS in kind have recalled five players from the ECHL for tonight's game in Wilkes-Barre. Forwards Matt Reid and Robin Gomez have been recalled from South Carolina (ECHL), while center Scott Kelman has been called from from Gwinnett (ECHL). HERSHEY also has brought up right wing Doug Christiansen and defenseman Jeff State from Reading (ECHL). Reid will wear uniform number six, while State will wear number 32. Kelman will make his BEARS debut wearing number 26, Gomez will wear number 27 and Christiansen will wear number 25. Washington will play at home Saturday against Pittsburgh in the final game for the Caps before the two-week Olympic break.

Following a 5-4 regulation loss to Norfolk Wednesday, the BEARS begin the night just six points back of first place in the East Division. The Penguins lost 3-2 in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening.

Tonight's game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM, 1490-AM and 960-AM) beginning at 6:45 p.m. The game is also available worldwide through Pennlive.com and B2 Networks. John Walton has the call of the action from Wachovia Arena.
