Iowa drops 3-2 decision

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Iowa Stars traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday night for the first game of a home-and-home series with the Milwaukee Admirals. Despite a 27-shot effort, the Stars dropped a 3-2 decision to the Admirals.

The Admirals dented the scoresheet first at 8:49 of the first period. Simon Gamache scored the period's lone goal for a 1-0 Milwaukee lead. Left wing Krys Barch evened the score at one, scoring a power-play goal at 1:12 of the second period. The goal was his second in as many games and fourth overall this season. Milwaukee regained the lead at 10:55 of the second period when Kris Beech registered a shorthanded goal. The shorthanded goal was the third such marker recorded against Iowa in their last four games. Vojtech Polak pulled the Stars even at two with his ninth goal of the season. Polak's goalmouth scrum goal came at 17:08 of the second period. Just :43 seconds later and with the Stars shorthanded, Jordin Tootoo scored the eventual game-winner with the Admirals' second power-play goal of the game.

The two teams skated a scoreless third period.

Goaltender Dan Ellis faced 35 shots in loss.
