Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators fell victim to the Bowie Baysox, 7-3, Sunday at Commerce Bank Park. The Senators were quieted for most of the afternoon by Bowie RHP Chris Tillman but missed on several scoring opportunities, including leaving the bases loaded on two occasions.
The Baysox jumped ahead in the top of the 1st inning when Nolan Reimold drilled a two-run homer to left to make it 2-0. In the 2nd, Blake Davis hit an RBI sacrifice fly and Sebastien Boucher singled to push the deficit to 4-0.
The Senators came back with a run in the bottom of the 2nd. Marvin Lowrance led off with a single, stole second, went to third on an error and scored on a single by Bill Rhinehart to cut it to 4-1.
In the 3rd, Matt Wieters hit a solo homer to push the margin to 5-1.
In the bottom of the 3rd, Seth Bynum hit a leadoff home run just inside the left-field foul pole to make it 5-2.
The Baysox plated another run in the top of the 6th when Jonathan Tucker lifted a sacrifice fly to score Wieters and balloon the lead to 6-2.
The Senators got a run in the bottom of the 7th as Marvin Lowrance crushed a solo homer to right to cut the deficit to 6-3.
In the 8th, Mike Rodriguez hit a one-out double and scored on a bloop two-out single by Blake Davis to give Bowie a 7-3 lead.
Harrisburg RHP Bobby Brownlie took the loss to fall to 8-4. Tillman grabbed the win to improve to 11-4.
The Senators dropped to 72-69. Bowie upped its record to 84-57.
The Senators and Baysox finish the season Monday at 1:05 PM at Commerce Bank Park. Harrisburg LHP Justin Jones (2-5, 5.26 ERA) faces Bowie RHP Zach Clark (4-1, 2.67 ERA).
