Rock Cats Defeat Mets, 9-6

New Britain, CT - Yohan Pino tossed six solid innings and Danny Valencia provided two home runs as the Rock Cats defeated Binghamton, 9-6. The B-Mets were knocked out of the playoff race with the loss.

Brian Dinkelman got the Rock Cats started with a leadoff triple to right field. Danny Valencia then hit an inside-the-park home run for a 2-0 advantage.

The B-Mets answered back in the third with RBI singles by Emmanuel Garcia and Fernando Martinez.

Valencia delivered another homer in the fifth inning - this time a three-run blast over the right field wall - to extend the Rock Cats lead to 6-2.

Pino (7-7, 4.54) allowed two runs on four hits. The B-Mets made a late comeback attempt in the eighth, scoring four runs off Jason Miller, but Ben Julianel came on in the ninth to secure the victory. Julianel fired a scoreless ninth to pick up his 26th save of the season.

Dylan Owens suffered the loss for the B-Mets after surrendering six runs on six hits through five innings. Mike Carp had an RBI double for the B-Mets in the eighth.
