In game one, the Bats got off to a quick start in the top of the first inning. With major league rehabber Max Schrock at third base and two outs, Taylor Motter laced an RBI single to give Louisville the early 1-0 lead.

Bats starter Reiver Sanmartin stole the show the rest of the way. The left-hander tossed five-scoreless innings, striking out six and not yielding a single walk.

In the top of the third inning, Jose Barrero hit a two-run home run to extend the Louisville lead to 3-0. It was the second homer for Barrero during his major league rehab assignment, which began on May 20.

After Sanmartin exited the game, Kyle Dowdy and Fernando Cruz each pitched scoreless innings to complete the 3-0 win. Cruz earned his eighth save of the season.

In game two, it was the Storm Chasers who jumped out to an early lead on a Vinnie Pasquantino solo home run in the second inning. Pasquantino added another RBI in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly, extending the Omaha lead to 2-0.

The Bats got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when Cristian Santana scored on a Taylor Motter RBI groundout, but Omaha responded in the next half inning when Angelo Castellano drove in two runs with a double. Nick Pratto brought in Castellano with a double of his own, making it a 5-1 Storm Chasers advantage.

That was all the run support Omaha starter Daniel Mengden would need. Mengden was excellent over six innings, allowing just a run on two hits. Jose Cuas pitched a scoreless seventh inning to finish off the victory.

The Bats and Storm Chasers will complete their six-game series Sunday night at Louisville Slugger Field. Robert Dugger (0-2, 4.26 ERA) will start for Louisville, opposing Carlos Hernández (0-1, 7.71 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. ET.
