
Baker Drives in Five to Lead Memphis Past Charlotte for Fourth Straight Win

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip with a 9-2 win at the Charlotte Knights (Triple-A, Chicago White Sox) on Saturday night in Charlotte.
Designated hitter Luken Baker led the way offensively for Memphis. With the bases loaded in the third inning, the right-handed hitter smacked a double off the top of the center-field wall to drive in three. In the fifth, Baker smacked his team-leading sixth home run of the season to put the game out of reach. In total, Baker went 2-for-4 with a run scored, the double, the home run and a season-high five RBIs.
Catcher Nick Raposo also continued his hot stretch offensively. Raposo slapped a pair of RBI doubles on the night. In the fourth inning, the right-handed hitter drove home a run with his fifth double of the season. In the fifth, he brought home a pair on his sixth two-bagger of 2024.
Starting pitcher Michael McGreevy (2-3) glided through his seventh start of the season. The right-handed pitcher allowed two runs on five hits, walked one and struck out six in his 6.0-inning start. Both Charlotte runs scored in the fourth inning. Victor Santos (S, 1) completed the final 3.0 innings scoreless and struck out four batters.
The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park to begin a 13-game homestand against the Norfolk Tides on Tuesday, May 7 with first pitch for 6:45 p.m. CDT.
