Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have named forward Derek Army as the Grand Vue Park Player of the Month for December.

Army earns the honor of Grand Vue Park Player of the Month, after leading the Nailers in scoring during December. Derek appeared in all 11 games during the month for Wheeling, racking up six goals, seven assists, and 13 points. The rookie forward out of Providence College recorded at least one point in nine of the 11 contests, including a three-point effort in a 3-2 win over Reading on December 14th. Thanks to his magnificent month, Army has taken over the team lead in goals with ten, and his 22 points rank second behind Riley Brace's 28.

Each month, the Nailers select a lucky fan to win a weekend stay with friends and/or family in a luxurious cabin at Grand Vue Park, on behalf of the honored player. December's winner is Karen Anderson.

Derek Army and the Nailers will travel to Reading on Wednesday for a 7:30 game, before playing their first three home games of January on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday is a 7:35 tilt against the Reading Royals, Saturday is a 7:35 face-off against the Elmira Jackals, and Sunday's game will take place at 4:05 against the Indy Fuel.

The Nailers will have a three-game homestand from January 9th-11th.

Reading comes to town on the 9th for Faith & Family Night, which will also be a Flat Screen Friday, courtesy of The Highlands, as well as the Law Firm of Bordas and Bordas. In addition, an Eric Hartzell poster will be given to the first 2,000 fans in attendance, thanks to RSQP Print & Design. As part of Faith & Family Night, the Chrisagis Brothers will perform in a post game concert.

Elmira is the opposition on the 10th, as the Nailers will be holding a Princess Party from 6-7. Only 100 tickets are available for the party. That game will also be the annual Girl Scout Night.

Finally, Indy pays a visit on the 11th for a Family Funday with $5 kids tickets, a post game skate with the team, and another Oglebay Good Zoo Day.

Wheeling Nailers 2014-15 season tickets, flex tickets, group tickets and single-game tickets are on sale now. For more information, call 304-234-GOAL or visit wheelingnailers.com.
