
Reign Winger Geoff Walker Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, are proud to announce that the ECHL has named veteran forward Geoff"ËWalker as the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL"ËPlayer of the Week for Dec. 29-Jan. 4. It is the second time in his career that he has won the weekly award, and the first with Ontario.
Walker scored four goals and added three assists as the Reign went 4-0-0 last week.
The 27-year-old had two assists in a 3-1 win at Stockton on Tuesday, scored a goal in a 3-2 victory against the Thunder on Wednesday, added another goal in a 3-2 win at Bakersfield on Saturday and recorded three points (2g-1a), including the game-winning goal, in a 3-2 victory over Stockton on Sunday.
A native of Charlottetown, Prince"ËEdward Island, Walker has 23 points (11g-12a) in 30 games with the Reign this season, and he is tied for fifth in the league with four game-winning goals.
Walker has tallied 103 points (45g-58a) in 130 career ECHL"Ëgames with Ontario and Florida and he has added 116 points (45g-71a) in 269 career American Hockey League games with Manchester, Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Lake Erie and Syracuse.
On behalf of Geoff Walker, a case of pucks will be donated to an Ontario youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood"ËHockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
