Fuel Acquire Goaltender Owen Via Trade

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Tuesday that forward Klarc Wilson and goaltender Cody Reichard were traded to the Stockton Thunder in exchange for goaltender Shane Owen.

A 6'2", 195 lb. native of Markham, Ontario, Canada, Owen is 6-11-0-0 in 19 appearances for the Thunder this season with a 3.54 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .899 save percentage (S%). In 52 games played for the Scott Hillman-coached Missouri Mavericks during the 2013-14 CHL season, Owen posted a 35-15-1 record with one shutout, a 2.58 GAA and a S% of .917. In 79 career ECHL appearances, Owen, 24, is 27-33-10 in parts of four seasons with Stockton, the Utah Grizzlies, Alaska Aces, Florida Everblades and South Carolina Stingrays from 2010 to 2015. In one career AHL appearance for the Hershey Bears in 2010-11, Owen posted a 3.08 GAA and a .900 S%. Prior to his professional career, Owen spent four full seasons in the Canadian Major Junior ranks with the OHL's Erie Otters and QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats from 2007 to 2011.

In 17 appearances for the Fuel this season, Wilson, a rookie winger and native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, posted one goal and 70 penalty minutes, the third most PIM's in the ECHL this season among rookie skaters. Wilson's six major penalties rank fourth among ECHL rookies.

A native of Celina, Ohio, Reichard departs Indy with a 5-7-1-1 record in a team-leading 16 appearances this year with a 3.69 GAA and a S% of .878 so far this season. The 5'11", 165 lb. former Miami University standout returns to Stockton, where the third-year pro went 13-8-3-2 for the Thunder in 27 games played in his rookie season of 2012-13, with a 2.64 GAA and a .911 S%.

The Fuel announced Monday that they signed goaltender John Griggs to an ECHL contract after claiming the third-year pro off waivers from the Missouri Mavericks and announced Tuesday that Griggs has been waived by the team.
