
Idaho's Roy Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Olivier Roy of the Idaho Steelheads is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 29-Jan. 4. It is the fourth time in his career that Roy has won the weekly honor.
Roy went 2-0-0 with a two shutouts last week as the Steelheads won a pair of games at Colorado.
The 24-year-old made 29 saves in a 6-0 win on Friday and stopped all 23 shots he faced in a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
A native of Causapscal, Quebec, Roy leads the ECHL this season with 17 wins, is tied for the league lead with three shutouts, is fourth with a 2.31 goals-against average and is tied for 12th with a .913 save percentage.
Selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round (133rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Roy has appeared in 95 career ECHL games with Idaho, Alaska and Stockton posting an overall record of 53-33-7 with seven shutouts, a 2.23 goals-against average and a save percentage of .925. He has also played in 44 career American Hockey League games with Springfield, Oklahoma City and Abbotsford.
