Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces announced today that defenseman Brad Richard has been returned to the team from loan to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, on a professional tryout offer (PTO).

Richard will be available to play tomorrow, when the Aces start a six game road trip against the Utah Grizzlies at Maverik Center, beginning at 5:00 p.m. AKT (KFQD/ECHL.TV).

Richard, 25, made his AHL debut with the Wild and skated in four games with the club, earning two shots on goal. He also previously skated in training camp with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Richard returns with seven goals (T-4, ECHL defensemen) and 12 points in 23 ECHL games.

The 5-foot-10, 195 pound blueliner helped guide the Aces to their third Kelly Cup championship as a rookie last season, earning a spot on the ECHL All-Rookie Team with 30 points (6g-24a) in 62 games which led all Aces defensemen and tied for second among the league's first-year blueliners. His +20 rating was third among ECHL rookies and he was the sixth player in Aces history to earn a spot on the league's All-Rookie team.

He missed 15 games in the playoffs due to injury and returned in the Kelly Cup Finals to collect a goal (game-winner) and an assist in three games vs. Cincinnati.

The Aces are the official ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League.
