Anaheim Ducks Assign Goaltender Igor Bobkov to Grizzlies
December 11, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release
Ontario, California - The Anaheim Ducks today assigned goaltender Igor Bobkov to the Utah Grizzlies.
Bobkov will meet the Grizzlies in southern California and be in uniform as the team begins three games in three nights Friday in Ontario at 8 p.m.
The six-foot-six goaltender rejoins the Grizzlies directly from Anaheim following the first two NHL call-ups of his career this season while he was playing with the Ducks AHL affiliate in Norfolk.
Last year with Utah, Bobkov ranked second in the ECHL with a 2.04 goals-against-average and had a .921 save percentage while going 17-8-4 with the Grizzlies. He was named the league's goaltender of the month in February and March. Bobkov became only the second goaltender in ECHL history to win back-to-back Goaltender of the Month awards. He was also named the league's Goaltender of the Week twice.
He was originally selected in the third round and 76th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
