Evansville IceMen News Release
EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Binghamton Senators of the AHL have sent forward, Danny Hobbs back to the Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light. Hobbs will likely play for Evansville during its weekend series against the Fort Wayne Komets.
After beginning the season with the IceMen, Hobbs has spent the majority of the year in Binghamton. Hobbs scored a goal and dealt out an assist in seven games with the Senators. The Quebecer netted his first AHL goal this season on Dec. 5, when he helped Binghamton defeat the Adirondack Phantoms by a score of 5-3.
Hobbs has two goals and assist in five games with the IceMen this season. The IceMen are 4-0-1 with Hobbs in the lineup during the 2014-15 campaign.
The 25-year-old last suited up for the IceMen on their Thanksgiving week road trip. Hobbs scored a goal in the IceMen's overtime loss to the Elmira Jackals on Nov. 28. He had a goal and an assist in the Evansville's Oct. 25 victory over the Indy Fuel.
The IceMen will host their rivals, the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday and Saturday at the Ford Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. as the IceMen continue their six-game home stand.
Friday's game will also be the IceMen's first What Would You do For A Grand Contest presented by Midwest Communications and Crosspointe Insurance Advisors. The three best submissions will show fans what they are willing to do for a $1,000 during intermission of the IceMen's game against Fort Wayne.
Saturday night will be the annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Ford Center. Buy a teddy bear and throw it on the ice when the IceMen score their first goal of the game. These teddy bears will then be donated to 9-1-1 Gives Hope. Fans that bring a teddy bear can get $10 upper bowl tickets (1 ticket per bear).
Plus D-Patrick Downtown will be hosting its first ever IceMen tailgate party on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. Stop by the D-Patrick parking lot before the IceMen game for face painting and free hot dogs. Don't worry about the weather because the parking lot will have heaters to keep fans warm.
