
Davidson Debuts for Edmonton Oilers

Loveland, CO - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, are honored to announce that former Thunder defenseman Brandon Davidson debuted in the NHL last night for the Edmonton Oilers.
Davidson, 23, played 11 games with the Stockton Thunder from February 15, 2013 to March 9, 2013, scoring two goals in his debut with the Thunder and going on a five-game point streak from February 24 to March 9 before being recalled to the Oklahoma City Barons. In total, Davidson registered 7 goals and 5 assists during his time with the Thunder including three game winning goals, one of which occurred in overtime of his ECHL debut.
Last night Davidson became the 10th player to make his NHL debut after playing for the Stockton Thunder when he suited up for the Edmonton Oilers in their game against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Lethbridge, Alberta native skated 13:08 last night and finished the game +1 and recorded two hits and a blocked shot. The Oilers would however fall to the Ducks in Davidson's debut 2-1.
Davidson follows Bryan Young (Edmonton), Liam Reddox (Edmonton), Troy Bodie (Anaheim), Tim Sestito (Edmonton), Devan Dubnyk (Edmonton), Ryan O'Marra (Edmonton), Colin McDonald (Edmonton), Milan Kytnar (Edmonton) and Mark Arcobello (Edmonton) as players who made their NHL debut after playing for the Thunder.
In total the Thunder have 20 players who have played in the NHL and for the ECHL side. Sebastien Bisaillon (Edmonton), Damian Surma (Carolina), Colin Hemingway (St. Louis), Johan Motin (Edmonton), Alex Stalock (San Jose), Jason Morgan (Los Angeles), Philippe Cornet (Edmonton), Brayden Irwin (Toronto), Brian Foster (Florida) and current goaltender Kent Simpson (Chicago) have all played for the Thunder after making their NHL debuts.
The team returns to Stockton Arena on Friday, December 19 when they begin a three-in-three series against the Idaho Steelheads. The Thunder will distribute 10th Anniversary Jersey magnets to the first 500 fans on Friday. The series continues on Saturday with a Youth Replica Jersey giveaway to the first 500 fans 12 & younger and then Kids Take Over Stockton Arena will kick off on Sunday.
