Amerks Busy Off the Ice

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans will begin a busy week of appearances in the Rochester area tonight. The "Power-Play" Radio Show begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Winton Rd. Distillery (3010 Winton Rd.). Guests to be on the show are goaltender Mike Brodeur, who was recently named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week. He has been a key factor in helping the Amerks win four of their last six games and their first back-to-back wins of the season. He will be joined by newcomer Greg Classen as the pair will discuss topics on the team and their recent arrivals to Rochester.

The Amerks' Reading Power Play will also continue this week with three readings to take place. Tonight will feature Amerks defenseman Michael Caruso at the Parma Public Library (7 West Avenue, 14468) whom will read to listeners, answer questions, dress up one lucky participant and sign autographs. Riley Emmerson will be at the East Irondequoit Library (2180 Ridge Rd. East, 14622) on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 p.m. and Keaton Ellerby will read at the Webster Public Library (980 Ridge Rd., 14580) on Wednesday, December 17th at 6:30p.m.

Michael Duco and Franklin MacDonald will appear at The Original Charbroil House on Wednesday night for the fourth Pucks and Plates at 6:00 p.m. The appearance will give fans a chance to meet the players and get autographs.

Duco, along with goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu and The Moose, will also be heading to Rochester General Hospital on Thursday, December 18th to join the holiday festivities being held within the pediatrics unit at 4:00 p.m. Rochester Knighthawk John Grant and Knightingales and American Spirit dance team members Ada and Sara will also meet with kids and sign autographs.
