Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Phantoms fans got behind two great charitable events on Sunday during the team's 2-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Fans donated 838 pairs of gloves and 80 winter hats to Operation Warm during the Scott Hartnell Glove & Mitten Toss, and raised $4,275 for the Children's Miracle Network at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia during the team's Helping Hands auction during and after the game.

Flyers winger Scott Hartnell helped the Phantoms by participating in his event, created to bring some goodwill after his own glove toss in a game earlier this month against Tampa Bay. Hartnell signed autographs and greeted fans for an hour before the game, and was on the ice to trigger the throwing of the gloves in the first intermission. The gloves were collected and will be donated to Operation Warm for their use during the upcoming winter months.

Sunday also marked the ninth consecutive year the Phantoms have teamed up with CMN to assist in their efforts at CHOP. Earlier this month, the entire Phantoms roster and selected Flyers players used paint to make handprints on 11x17 cards, which were then framed and auctioned off at Sunday's game. Most of the handprints were sold via silent auction during the game, with five players participating in a live auction following the game in Bullies.

The Phantoms will continue their charitable efforts throughout the rest of December. The team's annual Toys for Tots drive takes place this Friday and Saturday, with fans encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game to benefit the annual Marine Corps event. Then on December 26, the Phantoms are holding Awful Gift Night. Going off the premise that something that's not right for one person may be perfect for another, fans who received new holiday gifts they can't use, either because of size, duplicate item or other reasons, are encouraged to bring them to the game for donation to area charities.

The Phantoms will host the Binghamton Senators on Wednesday at 7:05 PM for game number 2 of a five game homestand. It will be 70's night at the Wachovia Spectrum with all fans encouraged to dress in their hippest retro gear. Tickets for that game, as well as all 2008-09 regular season games, are available by calling 1-800-298-4200 or visiting phantomshockey.com.

The best way for fans to secure a ticket for the final regular season game at the Wachovia Spectrum on April 12, 2009 is to purchase either a game plan package or season tickets. Packages are available now in convenient blocks of 6, 10, 16 and 20 games, as well as pro-rated full season tickets for all remaining home games. All packages receive an impressive list of exclusive benefits, discount prices and the same seat for each game, beginning at just $60!
