Ben Alsup and Luis Cruz each had their best stuff on Wednesday night as the two pitchers cruised through the first five frames without allowing a single run. Alsup went 5.2 innings for Asheville and surrendered just one hit while Cruz lasted six for the Legends.

Lexington plated three in the top of the seventh, all of which came with two outs. Matt Duffy scored on a wild pitch from Nelson Gonzalez and Justin Gominsky doubled home Brandon Meredith. Later, Jordan Scott reached on an error and Gominsky raced home to score.

Trailing 3-0, the Tourists finally put Cruz in trouble. With runners at second and third with no outs, Jose Rivera drove in Jordan Ribera with a groundout. Two batters later, Tyler Massey hit an RBI sac-fly which cut the deficit to just one. However, the Tourists were unable to manage a base hit the rest of the way and the Legends hung on to win 3-2.

Ribera finished 3-for-4 for Asheville and Trevor Story notched his 100th hit of the season with a single to left in the seventh.
