Skole, Jimenez Fight Power with Power in Suns 12-7 Victory

Charleston, WV - The Hagerstown Suns (64-45/22-18) clubbed 17 hits to overpower the West Virginia Power (45-65/22-18), 12-7, at Appalachian Power Park on Wednesday night.

Third baseman Matt Skole hit his league leading 23rd clout of the season and drove in four runs to lead the Suns offense. Second baseman Hendry Jimenez went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third long ball of the year.

Suns starter Brian Rauh (1-1) earned the victory pitching five innings while allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits, three walks and three strike outs. Colin Bates (3) was credited with the save after getting the final out to leave the bases loaded.

Power starting pitcher Mike Jefferson took the loss going five inning and allowing six runs on eight hits. Shortstop Alen Hanson went 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.

The Suns and Power will complete their series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. when RHP Taylor Hill (9-6, 4.72) takes the mound for Hagerstown against West Virginia's RHP Zack Von Rosenberg (3-4, 3.73).
