SALISBURY, MARY. - The BlueClaws held a 4-3 lead entering the bottom of the 8th, but a three-run inning propelled Delmarva for a 6-5 come-from-behind victory Wednesday night.

Lakewood led 4-3 in the 8th inning with Luis Paulino on the mound. He allowed a hit and a walk to the first two batters of the inning, and with a sacrifice bunt back to the mound he fielded and threw errantly past first base. This allowed one run to score and put runners at second and third base still with no one out. A sacrifice fly and a single scored each runner and Delmarva took a 6-4 lead into the 9th inning.

Gabriel Lino doubled with two outs in the 9th, and Alejandro Villalobos followed with an RBI single to draw the BlueClaws within a run. However, Tim Carver ended the ballgame with a fielder's choice groundout to shortstop.

Despite the loss, Lakewood remains a game out of first place in the South Atlantic League North Division-tied with the Hickory Crawdads, one game in back of Hagerstown and West Virginia.

The BlueClaws and Shorebirds battle in the final game of their four-game series with the 'Claws sending Hoby Milner (2-2, 4.28) to the mound against Delmarva's Parker Bridwell (4-7, 6.08).

First pitch for Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
