Alaska Takes Second-Straight from Utah

Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Aces (17-4-1-1) scored two in the third period, including a late empty-netter to beat the Utah Grizzlies (13-8-0-1) 4-0 Friday night in Anchorage.

The three game series will wrap up Saturday in Alaska at 9:15 p.m. League-leading Alaska ran their unbeaten streak to 11-straight games in the contest and beat second place Utah for the second time in three nights.

The Aces built an early 2-0 lead, scoring twice in the first 8:41 with the back-to-back goals coming 3:46 apart. Utah outshot the Aces 13-11 in the first.

Off of an early, power-play, Alaska made it 3-0 in the third period on the second of three goals from Jordan Kremyr on the evening.

Andrew Engelage stopped 22 of 25 shots in goal for Utah as the Grizzlies dropped to 3-3 against Alaska this year. Alaska goaltender Gerald Coleman stopped all 25 shots from Utah for his league-leading third shutout of the year.

The Grizzlies return home Wednesday, December 14 and Friday, December 16 for 7:05 p.m. face-offs.
