The Elmira Jackals attempt to get back into the win column when they play the rubber match of a three-game series with the Florida Everblades at 7:00 p.m. at Germain Arena. Last night, Florida ended Elmira's season-high six-game winning streak with an 8-2 victory. The loss was Elmira's first since Nov. 25.

POWER PLAY CONVERTS AGAIN

Elmira's power play scored for the fourth-straight game on Friday when Artem Demkov snapped a puck in from the left circle in the first period. The Jackals have five power-play tallies during this current streak, which came after Elmira had gone five-straight games and 18-consecutive power plays without a man-advantage goal. Elmira is fourth in the league on the power play at 22.6%.

NIEDERT MAKES ECHL DEBUT

Eighth-year journeyman goaltender Nick Niedert, signed as an emergency backup by Elmira on Nov. 30 and then to a contract on Dec. 7, played in his first ECHL game on Friday night, replacing Brian Stewart early in the third period. The Hudson, Iowa native allowed two goals with the game already out of reach. Niedert began the season with the FHL's Danbury Whalers.
