LOOKING BACK:
In Monday's AHL action, Ryan Vesce (2-1-3) and Lukas Kaspar (1-2-3) each had three points as Worcester edged Portland, 3-2... Defenseman Brian Salcido tallied a shorthanded goal and two assists to lead Iowa over Rockford, 6-3... Jed Ortmeyer scored twice and defenseman Mark Matheson posted three points (1-2-3) to lead Milwaukee over San Antonio, 6-2.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Grand Rapids, 10-2-2-1 in its last 15 games, heads to Carver Arena on Tuesday night to take on a Peoria club coming off Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to Houston... The Griffins are beginning a stretch of four games in five nights, while the Rivermen are in the midst of playing seven games in nine days... Grand Rapids has posted three shutouts in its last four outings including back-to-back blankings by Daniel Larsson, who is 9-1-1 in his last 11 decisions... Evan McGrath has three goals in two games vs. Peoria this season, and four goals in 22 games against the rest of the AHL... Chris Conner is riding a five-game scoring streak for Peoria (3-4-7) and has nine goals and six assists in his last 13 AHL games... Jonathan Filewich had a goal and two assists in the Rivermen's 4-3 overtime win over Grand Rapids on Dec. 26.
Toronto brings a three-game winning streak down the QEW and into Copps Coliseum to take on Hamilton on Tuesday in the teams' sixth meeting of the season... The Marlies, 5-1-0-1 in their last seven road contests, are coming off a two-game sweep of first-place Manitoba over the weekend... Justin Pogge, who got the victory in his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs last week, returned to the Marlies and stopped 28 shots in Sunday's win over the Moose... In its last visit to Copps was Dec. 7, Toronto scored the final four goals in a 6-5 overtime win, capped by Darryl Boyce's decisive marker on a penalty shot in OT... The Bulldogs are 3-0-2-0 against Toronto this season... Rookie defenseman Yannick Weber has 11 points (6-5-11) in his last 11 games for Hamilton... The Dogs snapped a five-game home losing streak with a 4-3 shootout decision vs. Rochester on Sunday.
A New Year's Eve tradition at the Verizon Wireless Arena sees Manchester hosting Providence in an Atlantic Division showdown... The Monarchs are 3-2-2-0 in their annual Dec. 31 home game, while the Bruins are ringing out the old on the road for the fifth year in a row... Manchester's three-game winning streak has it one point out of fourth place... Brian Boyle has delivered four points (2-2-4) in his last two games, and he has totaled 11 points in 13 contests since rejoining the Monarchs on Dec. 5... Tyler Mosienko has a goal and two assists in five games with Manchester... Providence has been off since an 8-1 loss in Lowell on Saturday, the most goals allowed by a Bruins team since an 8-7 shootout loss, also at Lowell, on Jan. 9, 2005... The B's are 2-7-0-1 in their last 10 away from home... Peter Schaefer has nine points (3-6-9) in his last eight games for Providence.

In Monday's NHL action, 2007 Calder Cup champion Maxim Lapierre netted his first career NHL hat trick as Montreal dropped Florida, 5-2... Cody McLeod scored twice to help Colorado past Nashville, 5-1... Eric Nystrom's shorthanded goal was the difference in Calgary's 2-1 win over Minnesota... On Sunday, 2007-08 AHL All-Rookie forward Bobby Ryan had the game-winning goal and an assist to run his scoring streak to five games (2-6-8) as Anaheim edged St. Louis, 4-3.
