
Aeros Fly by Bulldogs 4-2

Hamilton, Ontario - The Houston Aeros defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-2 at Copps Coliseum on Friday night. Warren Peters scored the game-winning goal while Jeff Taffe added two assists.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 1:43 of the second period on a power play goal by Brian Willsie. Aaron Palushaj was positioned at the bottom of the right circle and passed the puck across the crease to Willsie at the left side of the net. Willsie received the pass and slid the puck under Houston starting goaltender Matt Hackett and in the net.
The Aeros tied the score at 5:37 of the second stanza on a 5-on-3 tally by Jon DiSalvatore. Jeff Taffe took a pass at the left point and feathered the puck to DiSalvatore who was stationed at the left side of the net. DiSalvatore then tipped the pass and the puck went over the right shoulder of Hamilton starting goalie Nathan Lawson. Houston took the lead at 12:11 of the middle frame on a goal by Justin Fontaine. Elgin Reid dropped a pass at the left side of the blue line for Drew Bagnall who wired a shot that was stopped by Lawson. The rebound came out to the slot where Fontaine put the puck in the open net.
The Aeros increased their lead at 16:27 of the third period on the power play on a goal by Warren Peters. Jeff Taffe was at the left circle and threw a pass into the slot where Peters was skating. Peters corralled the pass and fired a shot over the shoulder of Lawson.
The 'Dogs narrowed the margin at 18:51 of the final frame on a power play marker by Garrett Stafford. Frederic St. Denis passed the puck to Stafford at the right point who rifled a shot over the shoulder of Hackett and in the net. Jarod Palmer added an empty net goal for Houston at 19:47 of the third period.
The Bulldogs will continue their six-game homestand when they battle the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday, November 5th at 7:00 P.M.
