Aces Win 5-2 over Wranglers

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 5-2 to the Alaska Aces tonight, evening the three-game weekend series with one win apiece.

Only 1:51 into the first, Aces right wing Shawn Skelly netted the first goal of the game for an early 1-0 lead. Wranglers left wing Adam Huxley responded three minutes later, and tied the game 1-1 with his first goal of the season.

Scoring belonged to Alaska for the rest of the first period, with the team posting three goals in just over five minutes. Aces right wing David Eddy kicked off the run at the 13:06 mark, and center Brendan Connolly and forward Ross Ring-Jarvi added to the tallies to make it a 4-1 game at the end of the period.

Midway through the second, Aces defenseman B.J. Crum recorded the team's second power play goal of the night to go up 5-1 on the Wranglers. Wranglers center Chris Francis notched a power play goal six minutes later, but a scoreless third period left Alaska with the 5-2 victory.

The weekend series wraps up tomorrow afternoon. The Wranglers then play the Colorado Eagles and Idaho Steelheads on the road before returning home on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:05 p.m. The team will face the Bakersfield Condors, and The Smithereens will perform a full set after the contest.
