(ANCHORAGE, AK) - Colorado jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first and held Alaska to just 22 shots in the game, but a three-goal second period gave the Aces the 4-3 win on Saturday.

The Eagles found the game's first goal, as forward Joe Zarbo skated through the high slot and threw a backhander through traffic and into the back of the net to give Colorado the 1-0 lead with 12:09 left in the period. The Eagles would kill-off a pair of Aces powerplays, before eventually drawing one of their own and they would pounce on the opportunity. With just 14 seconds remaining in the period, forward Trent Daavettila took a pass on the end line and fired a shot into the back of the net to put Colorado on top 2-0 after 20 minutes, despite being outshot in the period 7-3.

Alaska stormed back in the second period, with forward Justin Breton scoring on a breakaway just 3:02 into the frame to cut Colorado's lead to 2-1. With 8:31 left in the period and the Aces on the powerplay, defenseman Gleason Fournier fired a shot from the point past Eagles goaltender Tate Maris to tie the game at 2-2. Just 1:07 later, forward Peter Sivak fed a beautiful pass from the right wing to the wide side post, which was deflected into the back of the net by fellow forward Tomasso Traversa to give the Aces the lead 3-2 after two periods of play.

Colorado would earn a powerplay early in the third and defenseman Jake Marto would beat Aces goalie Steven Summerhays with a shot from the point to tie the game at 3-3 just 2:15 into the final frame.

With time winding down in regulation, Aces forward Stephen Perfetto tapped a loose puck in the crease past Maris, giving Alaska the 4-3 advantage with just 4:35 remaining. The Eagles pulled Maris in favor of the extra attacker, but couldn't find an equalizer, falling by a final of 4-3.

The Eagles return home to kick-off a three-game series against the Wichita Thunder on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:05pm at the Budweiser Events Center.

Tickets for groups of 15 or more start at just $14 per seat and can be purchased by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468).
