Raptors 905 News Release

The Long Island Nets (1-6) were defeated by Raptors 905 (3-4) 112-111, in a thrilling overtime finish Friday night at Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

The 905 were led by trio of 20-point performances highlighted by Raptors two-way player Shamorie Ponds who scored a season-high 29 points. Newcomer Justin Anderson poured in 25 points, while Tyler Ennis contributed 20 in the winning effort. Former 905 forward Deng Adel led Long Island, recording 29 points and 11 rebounds in 38 minutes, while teammate C.J. Williams recorded 17 of his 19 points in the second half.

Long Island jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead, but an early timeout settled the 905 squad, who battled back to take a 10-point lead into halftime. After an evenly matched third quarter, Tyler Ennis received two technical fouls at the 6:36 mark of the fourth and was ejected from the game. The Nets capitalized and were able to overtake the 905 twice, including a two-point lead with 15 seconds left, after a Williams go-ahead three-pointer. Anderson responded for the 905, laying in the tying basket with seconds on the clock, forcing overtime. In OT, Anderson and Ponds both scored to give the 905 a 4-3 advantage and its third straight victory.

Raptors 905 will now head to Delaware for a Tuesday night meeting with the Blue Coats at 7 pm, while Long Island travels to Maine for a noon tip-off Sunday.
