Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City, Utah - A seven-year high of 10,020 fans at the E-Center saw Ryan Kinasewich's third hat trick of the year and a season-high 55 Utah shots on net in an 8-5 loss to Las Vegas Friday night.
Utah came slow out of the gate and fell behind 4-0 in the first 12:51 of the opening period before attempting to rally. For the third-straight game, the ECHL's leading scorer Ryan Kinasewich scored Utah's first goal to make it 4-1 at the first intermission.
Another wild E-Center second period saw the Wranglers increase their lead to 5-1 but the Grizzlies battled back with three goals in 5:37 to make it 5-4 going into the final minute of the period. However, Las Vegas scored a big insurance goal with 53 seconds left to make it 6-4 at the second intermission.
In the third period, Las Vegas scored first for the third consecutive frame to make it 7-4 at 7:09. Ryan Kinasewich hacked in his hat trick at 17:48 to make it 7-5 before Las Vegas scored on an empty-net to finish the high-scoring affair. All goals, but the empty-netter in the game, were scored at even-strength five-on-five.
AJ Perry tallied three assists in the game for Utah while Tim Crowder and Peter Aston (one goal, one assist) had Utah's other goals. Veteran Lance Galbraith led Utah with a plus-two in the contest, while also tacking on three assists.
The Grizzlies and Las Vegas play again Saturday and Monday at the E-Center. Face-off both evenings is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
