Everblades Lose Two to the American Hockey League

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced that defenseman Matt Duffy has been recalled to Rochester (AHL) and goaltender Barry Brust has been returned to Houston (AHL). In other transactions, forwards Shea Guthrie and Paul Healey have been activated off the injured reserve and forward Kevin Baker has been placed on the three-day injured list.

Duffy, a fourth round pick of the Florida Panthers in 2005, has appeared in 37 games with the Everblades this season and posted three goals and five assists with eight minutes in penalties. The Windham, Maine native has played in five games in the American Hockey League with the Amerks and scored a goal and three points.

Goaltender Barry Brust has been returned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. Brust had started a season-high six straight games for Florida and posted a 5-1-0 mark during that stretch. He was named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week last week with two divisional wins with a goals against average of 1.50 and save percentage of.952. Brust leads the league with a 2.24 goals against average and.926 save percentage. He has posted a record of 9-3-2 with Florida and a record of 2-1-0 with Houston with a 2.43 goals against average and.904 save percentage.

Forwards Shea Guthrie returns to the Everblades lineup along with Paul Healey. Guthrie has missed 10 games due to an injury sustained in the New Year's Eve game against South Carolina. He has appeared in a total of seven games with Florida since being acquired from Utah in exchange for the rights to forward Simon Ferguson. Guthrie has two markers and four assists and is +3 in a 'Blades uniform. Veteran Paul Healey returns to the lineup after missing the last six games due to injury. Prior to his injury, Healey was red hot scoring in six straight games (4-37) +1. The Edmonton, Alberta native was signed in mid December and was held scoreless in his first four contests.

The Florida Everblades and Trenton Devils meet for the second time this week and fourth time overall this season tonight in Germain Arena. The Everblades have posted a record of 2-1-0 against Trenton this season.
