The Jackals, scoring at 3.83 goals per game (which leads the league), are on pace to score 276 goals, which would be a new team record. Elmira scored 260 goals in 2000-2001 and 2001-2002, the current high.
DONATI NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Donati was named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 18-24. Donati, collecting his first individual award of the season, had eight points (3g-5a) in the two wins last weekend, including his third five-point game of the season in Saturday's victory.
WELCOME BACK, CHAZ
Chaz Johnson is expected to be in uniform for the Jackals tonight. Johnson has been on the injured reserve since early December. He was third on the Jackals in scoring in 2007-2008 and scored a point per game in last season's playoffs.
MARTINSON EARNS 100TH WIN
Jackals coach Steve Martinson earned his 100th win with Elmira on Saturday. The victory occurred in the city in which Martinson began his professional playing career, as he skated his rookie season in 1981-1982 with the Toledo Goaldiggers (IHL).
