Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
Since joining the Frontier League (as the Cook County Cheetahs) and moving into Crestwood's Standard Bank Stadium (formally Hawkinson Ford Field) in 1999, the Windy City ThunderBolts' franchise, through good times and bad, has become the Southside's minor league team. In a few weeks the club will achieve a major milestone that is worth celebrating for all former and current players, coaches, ownership, front office, game-day staff, and fans. In late-July or early-August the Frontier League club and ballpark will welcome it's one-millionth fan. The ThunderBolts want all of their fans to be a part of this great moment as one lucky fan will have the chance to win fantastic prizes.
Some time on or before Sunday, August 14th the 1,000,000th fan will enter Standard Bank Stadium. This fan will be showered with gifts and presented like royalty. The fan will be treated by the staff with food and drink, get to throw out the 1st pitch, and have the chance to win a great prize including $1000 cash! On this special day the 1,000,000th fan will be presented with five boxes and they will have to choose only one box. Included in these boxes are $1000 cash, a free suite, and other fantastic prizes! While only one of our fans will be the 1,000,000th, we hope that all of our fans, even back in the Cheetah days, will make it to the ballpark for a chance to be a part of history.
