(Joliet, IL) - The Joliet Slammers host the Traverse City Beach Bums this Saturday through Monday and fans will enjoy some zany theme nights and great giveaways.
Saturday, July 30 is Jimmy Buffett Night at Silver Cross Field. The Slammers will salute the famous singer with a night full of Buffett songs and two lucky fans will win a gift certificate to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Arrive early as the first 500 fans through the gates get a Slammers Beach Towel. Plus, stay late for a spectacular fireworks show! Gates open at 5:05 p.m. and first pitch is set for 6:05.
Sunday, July 31 is the Slammers "Salute to BBQ" as the team will be roasting a pig. The first 500 fans through the gates get a Slammers apron. Gates open at 5:05 p.m. and the first pitch is at 6:05. Plus, it's a Senior Sunday so fans 55 and older can get a reserved seat for $5. Kids will get to run the bases after the game.
Sunday is also another "Sweet Suite Deal." For $299 dollars fans can get a fully loaded 22-person suite and enjoy Slammers baseball like never before. The suites come with a flat screen cable TV, a wet bar, and indoor and outdoor seating.
In addition to the suite, you'll get so much food it ought to be a crime! It starts with 12 hot dogs with all the traditional condiments and potato chips. You also get 6 grilled bratwurst, fresh rolls and assorted mustards, 6 charbroiled burgers with traditional toppings, and a 12 pack of soda: Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Sierra Mist are available. For those of age, a 12 pack of beer: Budweiser, Bud Light, or Miller Lite is also included. And for dessert your group will get 12 gourmet cookies and brownies. This is a $750 value for $299. Monday, August 1 is another Mascot Monday as Tommy Hawk will be at the yard! Tommy Hawk is the mascot of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and he'll bring that winning pedigree to Silver Cross Field. The game is also the Slammers' "Tribute to John Hughes" so get ready for lots of famous movie clips between innings featuring "The Brat Pack." As usual, kids will get to run the bases after the game and on Monday players will be waiting to sign autographs, so bring a ball! First pitch on Monday is at 12:05 p.m.
