Rocky Thompson Named Bridgeport Islanders Head Coach

June 23, 2025 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders announced today that Rocky Thompson has been named Head Coach of the Bridgeport Islanders. He becomes the 10th Head Coach in team history. Thompson, 47, joins the Islanders following three seasons as Assistant Coach with the Philadelphia Flyers. April 19, 2025 - PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Bridgeport Islanders (15-50-4-3), American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders, saw their 2024-25 season come to an end on Saturday with a 3-2 loss to the Providence Bruins (41-23-5-3) at Amica Mutual Pavilion.
