Grizzlies Finish Week with Shootout Point in Idaho

Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-3 in a shootout Saturday evening at CenturyLink Arena.

Utah goaltender Adam Morrison set a Utah season-high with 45 saves as he stopped 45 of 48 through overtime. The Grizzlies finish the week with a 2-1-0-1 record that includes three of six standings points against Idaho, who owns the best home record in the ECHL.

Utah fell behind 1-0 4:02 into the first period and was being outshot 11-1 before Alex Tuckerman slid in a puck on an odd-man rush to tie the game and the 1-1 score would stand going to the second period.

Mark Isherwood dropped the gloves with Bryce Reddick at the drop of the puck in the second period setting the tone for Utah to take the lead. The Grizzlies scored on the second of back-to-back odd-man rushes to take a 2-1 lead 56 seconds into the second period with Ian Schultz burying his sixth of the year.

The 2-1 lead would hold until Idaho tied it 1:02 into the third period on a power-play.

Utah took a 3-2 lead with 7:47 left in regulation on Evan Stoflet's second goal of the year as he went through the five-hole of Idaho goaltender Tyler Beskorowany on a four-on-four rush up ice. Idaho tied it with 3:10 left to go in regulation.

Each team had two shots in the overtime and Idaho scored on three of four shootout attempts.

Utah returns home for a Wild $2 Wednesday on March 6 when they will host Gwinnett. There will be $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Fries, $2 Soft Drinks, $2 Draft Beers and $5 Student Tickets available to students with ID at the arena box office.

The Grizzlies host Colorado Friday, March 8; Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10.
