Grizzlies Sign Veteran Riley Armstrong

Las Vegas, Nevada - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley today announced that the team has signed veteran forward Riley Armstrong. The veteran of 399 professional games; 2 in the NHL and 397 in the AHL is expected to make his Utah debut tonight in Las Vegas. The Grizzlies and Wranglers face-off at 8:05 p.m. from the Orleans Arena.

In 397 AHL games with Cleveland, Worcester, Abbotsford and Grand Rapids, the current 25-year-old has totaled 85 goals and 79 assists for 164 points and 555 penalty minutes. Armstrong split last year between Calgary's AHL affiliate in Abbotsford and the Red Wings top minor league club in Grand Rapids.

He made his NHL debut with San Jose on November 29, 2008 in a 3-2 win over Phoenix. His brother Colby currently plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Utah returns home Friday, November 19 and Saturday, November 20 to host the Alaska Aces at Maverik Center. Friday is Maverik night. All tickets are $5 for fans presenting a receipt from Maverik at the arena box office. Fans who present military identification Saturday will receive a $5 game ticket as well.
