Jackals Announce Saturday Transactions

The Elmira Jackals announced Saturday that forwards John Mitchell and A.J. Perry have been recalled by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and defenseman Patrick Coulombe has been loaned to their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Elmira has received forward Tim Spencer from Binghamton and defenseman Stu Bickel on a re-assignment by their NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks, from Syracuse.

Spencer has played in two games with the Jackals this season, totaling 23 penalty minutes and an assist.

Bickel, a native of Chanhassen, Minn., is in his third professional season and has played three games with the Crunch this season, notching an assist. In 2009-2010, he played 24 games with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors and 36 games with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage, garnering 13 points (1g-12a) with the Condors and four points (2g-2a) with the Rampage. With Bakersfield, Bickel tied for the team lead at +14. Bickel spent 2008-2009, his first season as a pro, with the AHL's Iowa Chops, contributing an assist in 21 games.

In college, Bickel played one season at the University of Minnesota (NCAA, D-1) in 2007-2008, playing in all 45 games for the Golden Gophers with a goal and six assists for seven points.

The Jackals host the Reading Royals on Saturday night at First Arena, with the puck dropping at 7:35 p.m.
