Cyclones Place Ryan Toomey on Suspended List

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones, announced today that they have placed forward Ryan Toomey on the club's suspended list. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Toomey, 25, quit the team on Wednesday morning and will not accompany the team to Wheeling tonight. Ryan will be heading to Finland to play hockey. He has been placed on the Cyclones suspended list and his rights are maintained by the club. He will be unable to play hockey for any other North American professional hockey team while under suspension. He is the fifth player to have been placed on the suspended list this season.
The five-foot-nine, 180 pound native of Bolton, Ontario appeared in nine games with the Cyclones this season and had a goal and four assists for five points and four penalty minutes. Toomey previously had aborted his fifth season of collegiate play at Mercyhurst, before joining Cincinnati.

The Cyclones host the Wheeling Nailers on Tuesday, January 6 at 7:30pm. The Trenton Devils are in on January 9 and 10 for 7:30pm clashes both nights.
