Charlotte Checkers (15-12-2) at Florida Everblades (19-7-2) 6 p.m. ET
- Florida's Ryan Lang has four points (1g-3a) in his last three games.
- Peter Tsimikalis leads the Checkers against Florida with four goals and six points in three games.
- Everblades defenseman Peter Metcalf has a five-game point streak (2g-7a).
- Charlotte's Jeff Jakaitis is 2-0-0 with a shutout and a goals-against average of 0.50 in two starts against Florida.

Trenton Devils (11-14-3) at Johnstown Chiefs (21-9-1) 6 p.m. ET
- Chiefs' Kris Mayotte is 3-1-0 with a goals-against average of 1.73 against Trenton.
- David Leaderer leads the Devils against Johnstown with two goals and is tied for the team lead with five points.
- Trenton's Gerald Coleman is 3-0-1 with two shutouts and a goals-against average of 0.79 in his last five starts.
- Jarrett Konkle scored the game-winning goal and had two assists in his first game with the Chiefs on Tuesday.

Cincinnati Cyclones (14-12-5) at Wheeling Nailers (19-5-5) 7:05 p.m. ET
- Tobias Holm leads the Nailers against Cincinnati with six goals and 10 points in five games.
- Cyclones rookie defenseman Frederic St. Denis has a four-game point streak (0g-7a).
- Wheeling's Curtis Darling is 4-0-0 with a shootout win and a save percentage of .913 in his last four starts.
- Cincinnati rookie Mark Van Guilder has a three-game point streak (2g-4a) and a two-game assist streak (4a).

Mississippi Sea Wolves (14-15-3) at South Carolina Stingrays (18-7-3) 7:05 p.m. ET
- Stingrays have won last three meetings and are 3-0-1 at home and 4-1-2 overall in season series with Mississippi.
- Jason Tejchma leads the Sea Wolves against South Carolina with four assists and seven points in seven games.
- Pierre-Luc O'Brien leads the Stingrays against Mississippi with nine assists and 10 points in seven games.
- Mississippi rookies Ryan Cruthers (7g-9a) and Alexandre Parent (4g-11a) have scored 31 points in December.

Stockton Thunder (10-17-4) at Alaska Aces (17-12-1) 7:15 p.m. AT
- Alaska leads the ECHL on the penalty kill with 90.6 percent (154-for-170).
- First game for new Stockton coach Matt Thomas, who has career regular season record of 179-98-41.
- Alaska is 14-0-0 when leading after two periods.
- Thunder's Ryan Huddy is tied for fourth among ECHL rookies with a team-leading 14 goals.

- The ECHL celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2007-08 and is the third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League.
- ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league with 21 teams in 16 states and British Columbia in 2008-09.

- ECHL is represented for the eighth consecutive year on the National Hockey League championship team in 2008 by Aaron Downey of the Detroit Red Wings.
- Former ECHL coaches working as head coaches in the NHL are Bruce Boudreau of the Washington Capitals and Scott Gordon of the New York Islanders. Boudreau, who coached Mississippi for three seasons winning the Kelly Cup championship in 1999, was named NHL Coach of the Year in 2007-08 becoming the first former ECHL coach to receive the award. Peter Laviolette, who began his coaching career with the Wheeling Nailers, led Carolina Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup in 2006.
- There are 18 assistant coaches in the NHL who were players or coaches in the ECHL.
- There are 18 former ECHL officials scheduled to work as part of the NHL officiating team in 2008-09 with referees David Banfield, Chris Ciamaga, Ghislain Hebert, Marc Joannette, Mike Leggo, Wes McCauley, Dean Morton, Dan O'Rourke, Brian Pochmara, Kevin Pollock, Kyle Rehman, Chris Rooney, Justin St. Pierre and Ian Walsh and linesmen Steve Barton, Brian Mach, Tim Nowak and Jay Sharrers. Barton, Joannette, Leggo, McCauley, Nowak, Pollock, Rooney and Sharrers all worked the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
- ECHL has affiliations with 23 of the 29 teams in the American Hockey League and for the past 19 years there has been an ECHL player on the Calder Cup Champion.
- In the last six seasons the ECHL has had more call-ups to the AHL than all other professional leagues combined with over 2,000 call-ups involving more than 1,000 players since 2002-03.
