Ontario Reign News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, announced today that they have received forward Dale Reinhardt from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for future considerations. The club also announced that they have signed right wing Itan Chavira to the roster in his second stint with the Reign this season. Terms of the deals were not disclosed per club policy.
Reinhardt (RINE-hart), 22, joins the Reign after appearing in 23 games with the Bakersfield Condors this season, tallying eight points (2g, 6a) and eight penalty minutes. He made his professional debut in 2007-08 with the Condors, scoring five goals (three in a hat trick on March 28 versus Victoria) and assisting on two others (7 points) in only nine games. Prior to going pro, Reinhardt played four seasons with Holy Cross College (2004-08) in Worcester, Mass., where he completed his college career tallying 118 points (46g, 72a) and 52 penalty minutes in 138 games played.
Chavira (She-VAIR-uh), 21, re-joins the Reign roster after appearing in one regular season match-up with the team on November 11, against Phoenix. He netted the game-winning goal, in a shootout, in a pre-season match-up against the Bakersfield Condors on October 10, and was the only player selected to the Reign roster from the Reign Free Agent Camp held September 27-28. Prior to joining the Reign, Chavira appeared in 52 games with the Yarmouth Mariners (MJAHL) in 2007-08, tallying 85 points (41g, 44a) and 52 penalty minutes.
Notes: In addition, the Reign announced today that left wing Ryan MacGregor has been placed on the 3-day injured reserve and that right wing Maxime Boisclair was suspended by the team on Tuesday, December 30. Terms of Boisclair's suspension was not disclosed per club policy.
REIGN DROPS The Reign are back at home on Friday, January 2, and Saturday, January 3, as they face-off against the Idaho Steelheads at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Puck drops for both matches at 7 p.m.
