Trenton Devils News Release
Trenton, NJ- The Elmira Jackals and Trenton Devils met up for the sixth time this season tonight in Trenton at the Sovereign Bank Arena. For only the second time this season the Devils skated to a 4-1 victory over the Jackals in front of 2,187 fans.
The Devils opened the scoring just 5:45 in when Matt Radoslovich beat Elmira goaltender David Shantz. Robert Page and Jeff Prough would get the assists. The Devils extended the lead to 2-0 at the 8:05 mark when Dylan Quaile took a Tony Zancanaro pass from behind the goal to beat Shantz. The Jackals got on the board at the 12:38 mark of the first when Josh Aspenlind connected on a pass to Beniot Doucet who fired a shot from the middle of the right circle that beat Devils goaltender Gerald Coleman.
The second period would remain close with the 2-1 score holding until the 19:37 mark when Brad Snetsinger netted his second goal of the season, a power play goal that was assisted by Ryan Gunderson. The Jackals did pressure the Devils in the middle frame, leading the shot category 8-6.
Like the first two periods we would see a back and fourth low shooting affair. Again Tony Zancanaro would get his name on the score sheet. This time in the way of a power play goal at the 15:40 mark. David Leaderer and Chris Dyment were credited with the assists. The 4-1 score would hold for the remainder of the third period, final shots were 26-18 Trenton.
