Condors deal Reinhardt to Ontario
December 31, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have traded F Dale Reinhardt to the Ontario Reign for future considerations. The announcement was made by Head Coach Marty Raymond.
Reinhardt, 22, is in his first full season in the pro ranks, and has 2g-6a-8pts in 23 games with the Condors, to go with eight penalty minutes and a -10 +/- rating. Last season, the Livingston, New Jersey, native joined the team at the conclusion of his college career at the College of the Holy Cross and recorded 5g-2a-7pts in nine regular season games.
WHAT MARTY RAYMOND SAYS:
"With some of the newer players we have acquired, along with the likelihood of players coming down from the American Hockey League, we have to make some room on the roster. We certainly appreciate Dale's hard work with us, and wish him the best."
CONDORS FINISH RUNNERS-UP FOR ECHL HONORS
Bakersfield G Ryan Nie was announced today as Runner-Up for the Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Week. Nie was 2-0-0 last week, allowing only two goals in five full periods of play (1.20 GAA) and stopping 65 of 67 shots he faced (.970 save percentage). On Friday, Dec. 26, Nie came in to start the second period in relief of Yutaka Fukufuji, and stopped all 31 shots he faced in a 7-3 triumph for the Condors. Then on Sunday, Dec. 28, Nie turned aside 34 of 36 Ontario shots in a 6-2 win over the Reign. It's the third time this season that Nie has won back-to-back games for the Condors, the only goaltender to do so for Bakersfield this season.
On Monday it was announced that Condors RW Chad Painchaud was named Runner-Up for the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week. Painchaud had back-to-back 1g-2a efforts, on both Friday and Sunday, to run his point streak to five games. Painchaud's totals of 2g-4a-6pts in just two games was bolstered by a +5 rating. He leads the Condors with 21 assists on the season and is second with 29 points. Since Nov. 29, Painchaud has 6g-12a-18pts in 13 games.
