Vigier Named Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that Ian Vigier is the Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 22-28.

Vigier started three games in three days and was 3-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .912 to help the Stingrays improve to 18-7-3 and move to within one point of South Division leader Florida.

Called up from the Southern Professional Hockey League when Michal Neuvirth and Bobby Goepfert were both called up to Hershey of the American Hockey League, the 26 year old stopped 32 shots in a 4-3 win at Gwinnett on Friday. He posted back-to-back home wins against Mississippi turning aside 18 shots in a 3-2 win on Saturday before tying his career best with 33 saves in a 6-3 win on Sunday.

Vigier is 4-0-0 with a goals-against average of 2.75 and a save percentage of .915 in four starts for South Carolina and is 5-4-2 with a goals-against average of 2.34 and a save percentage of .917 in 11 games for Columbus in the SPHL.

He played his rookie season in the SPHL and was 13-12-4 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 3.19 and a save percentage of .917 in 31 games for Columbus.
