Mooseheads Pick Austrian Star Paul Sintschnig
June 30, 2026 - The Halifax Mooseheads landed their targeted player in the CHL Import Draft on Tuesday when they selected Austrian centre Paul Sintschnig second overall. The Herd traded up from 20th overall on Monday in a deal with Baie-Comeau to secure the talented 17-year-old.

June 29, 2026 - Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell swung a trade with Baie-Comeau on Monday morning to acquire the second overall pick in the 2026 CHL Import Draft. The bold move will help Halifax land the player they have targeted to be part of an exciting roster heading into the 2026-27 season.

June 29, 2026 - It was an incredible weekend for a pair of Halifax Mooseheads forwards who had their names called at the 2026 NHL Entry Draft in Buffalo, NY. Oleg Kulebiakin was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning early in the day on Saturday as the Bolts took him in the Second Round with the 52nd overall pick. Shawn Carrier, who was passed over in his first year of eligibility, landed with the Colorado Avalanche in the Seventh Round with the 195th overall pick.
