Mavericks Sign Tobi Lawal to Two-Way Contract
July 6, 2026 - DALLAS, TX - The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed rookie Tobi Lawal to a Two-Way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lawal (6-9, 213) was selected by Dallas in the second round (48th overall pick) of the 2026 NBA Draft after finishing his college career at Virginia Tech. As a senior for the Hokies in 2025-26, he averaged 12.3 points (.542 FG%, .763 FT%), 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game in 23 games (17 starts).

July 5, 2026 - FRISCO, Texas - After falling on the Fourth of July, the Frisco RoughRiders fought back with an 8-7 win over the Midland RockHounds to split the six-game series Sunday at Riders Field.
Midland (8-4, 40-40) jumped in front with another first-inning home run, as Cole Conn lifted off against Dylan MacLean (6-1) for a 2-0 lead over Frisco (6-6, 45-35). Down 3-0 in the bottom of the second, the Riders cut the deficit to 3-2 with a two-RBI double from Max Wagner off Kenya Huggins (1-4).

July 4, 2026 - FRISCO, Texas - In front of a record-setting crowd at Riders Field, the Frisco RoughRiders were outslugged by the Midland RockHounds 8-2 Saturday night.
Against Ben Anderson (0-2) in the first inning, Midland (8-3, 40-39) got back-to-back home runs from Devin Taylor and Leo De Vries in a three-run frame before Henry Baez struck out the side against Frisco (5-6, 44-35) in the bottom of the first.

Riders Host Biggest Crowd in Franchise History on Fourth of July
July 4, 2026 - FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders welcomed the largest crowd in franchise history on Saturday night with 12,198 fans packing a sold-out Riders Field.
The standing-room-only sellout was the biggest in the 23-year history of the RoughRiders, surpassing the 12,081 fans that turned out to Riders Field on July 3rd, 2025.
