Washington Spirit Defender Taylor Smith Joins Newcastle Jets FC for NWSL Offseason

October 20, 2018 - Boyds, Md. - Washington Spirit defender Taylor Smith has joined Newcastle Jets FC of the Australian W-League for the duration of the 2018 NWSL offseason. Smith has signed a one-season contract with Newcastle, and will compete in the W-League season which run from October 2018 through early February 2019. Smith will return to the Spirit after the offseason. Washington Spirit Re-Signs Aubrey Bledsoe Ahead of Offseason Loan to Sydney FC

September 27, 2018 - Boyds, Md. - The Washington Spirit has signed goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe to a new contract. Per NWSL policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. In addition, Washington has completed a loan agreement that will send Bledsoe to Sydney FC of the Australian W-League for the duration of the NWSL offseason. September 24, 2018 - Boyds, Md. - The Washington Spirit 2018 Team Awards voting has concluded and the winners are ready to be announced. Spirit captain and defensive stalwart Estelle Johnson took home Defender of the Year honors, while record-breaking goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe was voted as Most Valuable Player.
