Former Blue Crab Troy Snitker Reportedly Hired as Mets Major League Hitting Coach
 October 29, 2025 - According to multiple reports, the New York Mets have hired former Blue Crabs catcher, Troy Snitker, as their new major league hitting coach. Snitker is also the son of Atlanta Braves World Series winning manager Brian Snitker.
Snitker was drafted by the Braves in the 19th round of the 2011 draft, working his way up to High-A in 2012. After his release, Snitker played five games for the Blue Crabs batting .353 with a home run and two RBIs, a double and six hits in 20 at bats. He retired from ...  Full Story

 October 23, 2025 - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' ace Shawn Semple led the Atlantic League in starting pitching ERA this season by authoring a 3.95 ERA this year. Semple was also named the lone Starting Pitcher Mid-Season All-Star.

 October 16, 2025 - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs finished the 2025 season 10 games above .500, at 68-58, marking a 15 game improvement from the 2024 season, and it was led by fantastic individual performances and a new coaching staff this season with Stan Cliburn at the helm for his seventh season in a Crabs uniform.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announced today the hiring of Christian Heimall as General Manager, following the departure of longtime employee and former General Manager Courtney Knichel.
