Downpour of Offense Overwhelms Petes in Guelph

December 14, 2018 - (Peterborough, ON) - A strong start was overcome by a downpour of Storm offense as the Petes fell 6-1 in Guelph on Friday night. Rookie Cameron Butler tallied his seventh goal of the season to open scoring for the Petes. Declan Chisholm and Nick Isaacson would collect assists on the play. Guelph would go on to score three goals in each of the second and third periods. Tye Austin stopped 32 of 38 shots. The Petes were 0/3 on the power play and 3/6 on the penalty kill. December 14, 2018 - (Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced Friday that the team has acquired defenceman Ryan Merkley from the Guelph Storm in exchange for forward Pavel Gogolev and OHL Priority Selection picks. Merkley, a 2000-born defenceman, was selected in the first round, 21st overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the club in July. Petes Score Four Unanswered Goals to Douse Firebirds

December 14, 2018 - (Peterborough, ON) - The Petes scored four unanswered goals on route to defeating the visiting Flint Firebirds 5-2 on Thursday night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Defenceman Shawn Spearing opened scoring for the Petes when he recorded his first OHL goal. Nick Robertson scored on the power play, while Chris Paquette scored his league-leading fifth shorthanded marker. Brady Hinz and Liam Kirk added insurance tallies. Hunter Jones and Nick Robertson Named to Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game Roster

December 13, 2018 - (Toronto, ON) - The Canadian Hockey League in association with National Hockey League Central Scouting announced today the 40 players that will compete in the 2019 Sherwin-William CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
